It’s also got a vibrant music scene that has produced some seriously groovy tunes and funky musicians. Let’s take a laid-back stroll through the history of Metz’s music genre, highlighting some fun quirks along the way!
The roots of music in Metz go deep, stretching back to medieval times when monks were busting out hymns in echoey cathedrals. These early sounds created a strong foundation for the city’s musical landscape. Fast forward to the 20th century, when jazz started hitting all the right notes.
In the 1920s and ’30s, jazz came strutting into town like it owned the place.
