Cymande: A Funk Odyssey Cymande was a British band, formed in London in 1968, that became a cornerstone of the funk and soul movement of the 1970s. Their music, a unique blend of jazz, funk, soul, and Afro-Caribbean influences, captured the spirit of a generation and continues to inspire artists today. A Sound Like No Other Cymande’s sound was distinctive.
